The fastest way is to sell skills that you already have.

Can you write? If yes do an Internet search for "freelance writers" or "webmaster forums". Many people will pay for short (200-500 word) articles that they can use on their website.

Can you do design work? If yes do an Internet search for "freelance designers". Thousands of people are looking for designers to create website banners, logos, ads, etc. It can be quite lucrative if you're good.

Can you test products or services at home? Big companies always do product testing before large rollouts, and will pay for your time or opinion. Google "market research companies" or visit some of the larger sites like consumerreports.com or http://www.consumeropinionlab.com to get hooked up with these companies. You'll probably nee a Paypal account though to get paid.

You might also check out craigslist, carerrbuilder and monster, but it may take awhile.

This question always intrigues me. It's pretty simple, really. No one is going to just give you money for nothing. Therefore, something needs to be sacrificed to get it. Even if you don't have money, there are things that you probably have that can be exchanged for it.

Goods:

You may not be able to get back as much as you spent on it, but if you're willing to find them, there will always be someone who might want it from you. You can sell your possessions on e-bay or craigslist or just an old fashioned garage sale. Car lots will buy your used car. Consignment shops will buy your used clothes. This is probably the fastest way to get money, but it's also the least efficient.

Knowledge:

If you know how to do something that most others don't, you can turn this into a money making venture. Again, you just have to find the people who want your expertise. This could be anything from how to play a musical instrument to financial advice to tutoring.

Labor:

Good old fashioned sweat. If you have NOTHING else, you have this. Granted, since almost everyone can offer this, you won't be paid a premium for it, but you have to start somewhere. You can babysit, wash cars, rake leaves, shovel driveways, or actually get a job.

No one said it was going to be easy. If it was, everyone would be rich.
